Having been asked recently to write some words to fill some editorial space in a local publication, I was staring at the usual blank sheet of paper waiting for inspiration. It then dawned on me to cut to the chase and define what should really be expressed in such items. All our business requires is an opportunity to express why your business should do business with our business, so I have created some ramblings that I hope will hit a chord! Ryan Insurance Group remains independent and privately owned. This gives us consistency but also gives us a character and personality which in turn makes us innovative by creating insurance and risk management solutions that are deliberately different. In insurance circles we are independent and therefore representative of the market place enabling us to place risks with over 100 insurers and specialist intermediaries. This is very important as we need to have access to a broad market place to help our diverse range of customers insure their businesses. For extremely large or complex risks, our membership of the Unitas Alliance gives us power with both UK and overseas insurers. Being a strategic part of the Alliance makes us part of one of the 10 biggest buyers of insurance within the UK. This brings exceptional leverage to our company within our industry. We are therefore able to place most risks presented to us. To give our customers best advice, we maintain a considerable investment in training and developing our staff. Every customer deserves fast, quality advice so our level of staff technical qualification is reviewed and benchmarked at regular intervals to make sure we stay ahead of the game. This investment goes beyond technical insurance knowledge, as we believe it is extremely important that our teams understand your business and the risk that you face. Engaging closely with all our customers is part of our work method and has enabled us to develop many areas of specialism where we are able to advise on risk management issues with a level of expertise in niche areas. Possibly the most important element of our business relationship with customers and prospects is being easy to do business with. This generally stems from having a robust communication strategy that enables those who engage with us to do so in a way that is simple and efficient. This sounds simple but can be difficult to achieve so we have made communication a theme that runs through the Group under the banner of our Customer Proposition. Like many businesses we have invested heavily in technology but this only enhances our proposition as it supports our communication strategy rather than leads it. We want to offer bespoke advice and solutions to customers, not ask them to fit in a box that we have defined.
