The Ryan Insurance Group has launched a specialist business division catering to the needs of the hospitality industry. The new five-strong team provides a broker service targeted at hotels, bed & breakfasts, guesthouses and self-catering accommodation, as well as restaurants, pubs and inns. Tim Larke, manager of the new division, said, “It was two years ago that we launched our product to bed and breakfast establishments. The response was excellent and feedback we received told us that there was a similar need within the wider hospitality industry. Its needs are very different needs to other business sectors, yet few insurers are catering specifically for it. “People running hotels and busy restaurants often do not have the time to search through the range of insurance offerings on the market to find the best fit for them. But at the same time, in an industry of this kind, where often the owner’s property is the basis of their livelihood, and they are liable for staff, customers and visitors to their premises, having suitable insurance protection in place is vital,” Tim added.
